"Cinderpaw and Lightpaw step forward!"
"I, Searingstar, leader of Briarclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices! They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I condemn them as warriors in their turn."

Ashpaw got to her paws, following all the apprentices out of camp.

Spiritedpaw sniffed "Mouse, vole starling..." he stiffned "Fox!"

All the apprentices stiffened, hackles raised as three foxed hurtled from the bushes and knocked them over, snarling.

The apprentices ganged up on one at once, and it ran away after a few heartbeats, attacking the remaining two.

Emberpaw suddenly felt large teeth sink into her scruff, shaking her.

Spiritedpaw was hit with a paw. He flew backwards smashing into a tree. He heard a crackling, sound, he looked up, his eyes widened in horror and the branch came crashing down on him, he went limp

Ashpaw managed to drive off the fox she was fighting and bolted over to Emberpaw, who tried to say something but was gurgling.

Emberpaw's eyes were clouded but they focused on Thistlepaw.

Emberpaw exchanged a glance with Thitlepaw, and looked at the two toms.
"There's something... we haven't told you." she rasped. "Your our.. half brothers." she said.

Spiritedpaw narrowed his eyes "No, you're our sister... Frostymoon and Copperflare are our parents..." he said slowly

"Frostymoon only had two kits, me and Thistlepaw." she said.
"Before Feathergaze died, s-she gave birth to you." she said, and slightly smiled. "I just thought that you should know that, before I go." she said, and stared sighlessly up at the sky.

Thistlepaw sighed, looking at the two toms, then she sobbed gragging her sister's body to camp leaving them there

"C'mon, i'll help you back to camp." he said numbly.

Copperflare looked to see Thistlepaw dragging Emberpaw through the entrance, and rushed over to them.
"What happened? Are you guys okay?" he asked his daughter.

Tears rolled down Thistlepaw's cheeks "E-Emberpaw's dead! And she told Spiritedpaw and Burntpaw that Frostymoon wasn't their father, a-and Spiritedpaw, i-i think his spine is broken,"

Copperflare said, nothing, just pressed his nose into Emberpaw's cold fur.
