Silverfern walks around watching the brother and sister fight!
(They are both toms, Silverfern. I think...)
Shadowraven nodded at Blazefoot, then opened his mouth and took a breath to ask.
Pouncewing put her tail over his muzzle, silencing him.
"Yes, Shadowraven. I'll proudly be your mate."
She gently licked his nose then padded out.
Shadowraven blinked several times, then nodded at Blazefoot. Then he followed her outside.
Silverfern smirked at the lovy scene.
(You are the one begging for a mate, as I'd like to point out)
No, Silverfern is a she-cat.
Thank you Scarheart I don't know how anyone could think I was a boy! Silverfern is not a boy name!
Not only that, it was hinted earlier, anywayz.
Hey Silverfern, maybe you should try the mate section. You might find some one there.
~Scorchheart~
*pads into the Warriors den for the first time*
Mistywing
Oh, I forgot, Mistywing, ur also going to the gathering!

~Mistywing~

Hi Sparkleshine! *pads over to a nest and lays donw*
~Mistywing
Hi Mistywing and it is Silverfern by the way!
(*tilts head to one side* didja change your name or something?)
No it has always been Silverfern!
Pouncewing padded back inside, nodding her acknowedgement to Silverfern.
"Can't be enemies forever." she meowed, then laid in her moss nest beside Mistywing.
Silverfern nods back. Not knowing what she meant by the enemy thing:(
Hi Pouncewing!~Mistywing
Silverfern did not know what to say!
Huh?
~Blazenose walks in the den and nods to all his clan mates~"Hey everyone hows it going."~Looks at Silverfern and Mistywing~"How are you doing today?" *Blazenose*
~Lightingtail walks in as Blazenose finishes talking~"You no Blazenose, You have been weird ever since the day I met you, and now your that your a warrior you are just, well, mouse brained."*Lightingtail*
Silverfern gets a little annoyed at Lightingtail. "He is not weird." Than apoligizes to Blazenose and says she is doing fine:)
"Hi Blazenose. I'm good, thanks."
Mistywing
"Ooo! Blazenose, sounds like some one has a crush on you!"~Jadefire says as she walks in~
"Shut it Jadefire! Don't embarrass the cat."~Blazenose snaps at his sister~
"Oooooo! sounds like you like her to!"~Jadefire teased~
~Blazenose dips his head in embarrassment~"So maybe I do, is that wrong?
"No, I just like to tease my little brother" ~Jadefire commented~
~Blazenose glared at his sister~"Your older by tow seconds"
"I'm still older!"~Jadefire turns around and trots out the door~
"Shes got a point."~Lightingtail says liking his paw~
"You mouse brained piece of fox dung!~Blazenose says in out rage turning around to face his friend~"Take my sisters side why don't yah!"~Blazenose says then storms out the den entrance~
~Lightingtail stares after his friend with his head tilted to one side then looks over at Silverfern~"Still don't think hes weird?"
Silverfern blushed. Then goes into one corner of the den.
~Lightingtail Walks out of the den saying~"I advise you to ignore him."
~Scorchheart walks out of the shadows and over to Silverfern and says~"No need to be embarrassed, they are toms. What can you expect?"
Yeah, toms. (snorts)
Silver gets a smirk on her face and runs off to find Lightingtail.
Mistywing smiled as Silverfern rushed out of the den.
"apparently Jadefire was right, Silverfern does have a crush. But its on Lightingtail, not Blazenose!"~Riverclaw-who had been in her nest the whole time-said~
"No really? I didn't notice."~Scorchheart said in a sarcastic tone~
"Just pointing it out."~Riverclaw said in her defense~
**Bumps into Riverclaw** Oh! Uhh....sorry! **Blushes** I'm...uh....just, sorry! **Walks over to his his nest in the far Corner**
-Stormwater
**Settles in Nest** "She's so pretty," he whispers.
-Stormwater
*Riverclaw watched as the deputy settled itto his nest in the far corner of the den. She saw him whisper something under his breath but couldn't tell what he said.*"Scorchheart, have you ever seen a tom so, strong and graceful as him?"
*Scorchheart groaned*"What is this?! The Love Fest?!"
*Riverclaw whipped her head around to look at her.*"It's not my fault you can't get a mate! besides, Hes deputy, he probably has better things to do than find a mate."*Sighs*
"I'll go ask him if he likes you"*Walks toward Stormwater leaving behind Riverclaw*"Hi Stormwater, Riverclaw is crazy about you and she is afraid if she confronted you, you would laugh in her face-"*She was broken off by Riverclaw*
"Get out of the poor deputy's fur!"*Scorchheart walks away with a grunt*"Umm, Hi, I just, well, I, What Scorchheart said is true, well I am not crazy about you but I do like you...Please don't laugh in my face!"*Riverclaw pleaded knowing she probably sounded like a poor kit*
Um....**Purrs**....me to. I'm pretty crazy about you. Your smart, pretty, and not stuck up like some she-cats. I really like you.....alot. Will you be my mate?
-Stormwater
**Silvermist and Hazelstripe walk In** "Something seems fishy," replies Hazelstripe. **Stormwater ducks down and Blushes** "Toms," they said together.
-Hazelstripe and Silvermist (Stormwater's Sisters)
"Yes, I will be your mate."*Riverclaw said happily*"I'm glad you didn't laugh in my face!"
I would never do that. **Nuzzles Riverclaw's Ear** Wanna go hunting?
-Stormwater
"Sure."Riverclaw purrs
*Scorchheart watches the deputy and her friend walk out through the entrance wondering 'will I ever get a mate' then sighs and settles down in her nest*
*Wispcloud walks in and settles down next to her den mate, putting her muzzle on her paws she says to no one in particular*"Looks like Riverclaw has a new mate"
"Yup"*Scorchheart said as she began to nap.*
Pouncewing purred.
"Apparently one of these trees hanging above the camp is dropping a lot of love!! Everyone's got it." she joked.
Shadowraven padded in and settled beside Pouncewing.
Mistywing padded into the den and sat beside Pouncewing and Shadowraven.
"I do not like Lightingtail," Silverfern says feeling really annoyed by these nosy cats!

Hey warriors! I'm writing a warrior story and swifstar has given me permission to post it on briarclan so I hope you like it. Here is the prologue.
prologue
Moonlight streamed into a clearing. In the center of the clearing was a pool of crystal clear water with the moon and the stars shining off of it. Water trickled into the pool from a little brook and even when the water dropped into the pool such that it should have made ripples it seemed as though it the water disappeared.
The bushes parted to reveal a Ginger tom. He padded down to sit on the rocks that surrounded the pool. More cats entered the clearing and settled themselves on the rocks.
At last the ginger tom spoke. “A cat is destined to lead the clans in a time of danger,” he said.
“And who is that, Blazestar? I have not seen anything.”
“Me neither.” called out another cat.
“Well I have” mewed the ginger cat calmly. In the middle of the pool appeared an image small skinny cat. She was completely black with golden eyes and she was very thin.
“What! That scrawny little thing?! Why she’s no bigger than an apprentice.”
“That’s because she is an apprentice.” Blazestar said coolly. “She will grow up to be a great and loyal warrior.”
“But Blazestar, there is no such cat in any of the clans.”
Blazestar nodded his head. “Very observant are we Mouseclaw?” he mewed acknowledging the pale brown she-cat. “ but you are right, she is not a clan cat she is a rogue from the city.”
“But she doesn’t have clan blood” yowled a grey tom.
“Does that really matter?” spat Blazestar angrily.
As the cats quieted down a dark brown tom stood up and asked, “Blazestar may I ask you something?” He nodded and the cat mewed, “You have told that she will be a great warrior but you have not told us which clan she will belong to.”
Worried murmurs broke out among the cats as he said this.
But Blazestar just shook his head. “You may want her to be in shadowclan Shadeclaw but you cannot change or mess with a cat’s destiny.” He stood still for a few moments and finally he meowed, “Her destiny lies in thunderclan.”
Surprised whispers filled the hollow. One voice called out above the others.
“Isn’t it strange that a thunderclan cat is telling us that a great warrior will be in thunderclan when the rest of us have seen heard nothing?”
Blazestar let out a hiss. “I would never lie about a prophecy,” he growled. “She will be in thunderclan.”
“And when will she come?” yowled a cat.
“She is not on the right path yet. Does any cat wish to lead her here to us?”
A silvery grey tom with amber eyes stepped forward. “I will,” he said.
“Stormpelt?” Blazestar mewed in surprise, “Are you sure you can handle this job?”
“I may be old but I am still strong.” The old tom replied.
“Then it is settled” Blazestar yowled “we will all watch over her in thunderclan” and then he added “Who she becomes affects all the clans.”
As if that was a signal, the cats began to trickle out of the cleaning until silence reclaimed it once more.
Here is the first part of the first chapter.
“Mother! Mother! Wake up.”
A small black cat nudged a dark brown she-cat who was curled up asleep. She was not in a very good state. Foam covered her mouth and heat rose off her body even though she was shivering.
“Mother, Mother! Wake up. I’ve got some prey.”
Suddenly the brown cat’s eyes flew open. They were the same piercing golden shade as her daughter’s. She slowly let out a low growl.
“Mother, It’s me, Bat!” But her mother either could not or would not listen. She snarled and lunged at Bat, claws outstretched. Bat let out a frightened cry, turned and ran as fast as she could, the mouse in her jaws swaying back and forth, but her mother kept chasing. Finally she darted into an alley and hid behind a trashcan. Bat let out a sigh of relief as she heard her mother go by, but her relief did not last long.
“Well, well, well look who’s going to give me my first meal.”
Bat whirled around. Towering over her was a huge dark brown tom. “Give me the mouse,” he ordered.
“No, its mine!” Bat cried in a high scared voice her mew muffled by her prey.
“Yes it is yours but I’m sure you want to give it to me,” he said in a silky tone.
Suddenly he lunged at her, his teeth snapping at her leg. Bat let out a frightened squeal, dropped the mouse and ran. Finally when she realized that the cat was not giving chase she stopped to catch her breath. When she turned around, she saw him enjoying her meal!
Bat settled down in a comfortable spot and began whimpering as grief swept over her. “Oh mother, oh mother what will I do without you?” Finally she curled up and cried herself to sleep.
A icy wind ruffled Bat’s fur. It seemed to twist and turn winding itself through her fur to her bones. The cold seeped up her body like water lapping at her paws.
Hunger gnawed at her belly, she had not eaten in days. Ever since her mother had caught a deadly disease, which the longfoots called rabies, she had been on her own.
It wouldn’t have been that bad if the longfoots, who had always fed them even though they were strays, had gone away a few days before her mother had attacked her and they showed no signs of returning.
Bat still remembered her mother all foamed up at her mouth with a deadly glint in her eye charging at Bat and trying to attack her. A few days later, Bat found her body and buried it behind a longfoot den.
Suddenly Bat heard the skitter of tiny feet. Instantly she dropped into a crouch stalking the creature and then pounced coming up with a mouse in her jaws. She quickly scampered off to hide it somewhere so she could eat it before a bigger cat took it. That’s what usually happened, if you found any prey at all that is. Bat pricked her ears. She thought she had heard the sound of paw steps behind her.
“Who’s there?” she growled “What do you want?” she asked, then added. “This is mine” nosing the mouse.
“I don’t want the mouse” came a voice and from behind a trashcan appeared a silvery grey cat with amber eyes. He was wispy at his muzzle and his paws seemed to fade into the ground. His eyes were starry as if they were reflecting the night sky.
“You don’t seem to be doing very well,” he commented, glancing at her belly where her ribs showed.
“That’s right,” Bat growled. “Now would you kindly leave?”
He ignored her last question and said, “Why don’t you go to the forest? There’s plenty of prey there.”
“The forest?” Bat echoed.
“You must go to the forest,” he repeated firmly. She nodded slowly and turned to look down the dark alley. When she turned back, he was gone.
Here is the rest of the first chapter.
That night Bat dreamed of the forest.
Sunlight streamed through the lush green leaves, warming her pelt and paws. The scent of prey wafted to her nose. She heard the scuttle of tiny feet in the bracken behind her and the scent of mouse hit the roof of her mouth.
She dropped into a hunting crouch and stalked the animal, her paws light and silent. Suddenly she leaped, and with one blow of her paw the mouse was hers.
It was plump and juicy. The first bite sent strength flowing into her muscles.
Life could always be like this: Plenty of mice rabbits and maybe even fish. Suddenly images began flooding her mind. Bat stalking a mouse, Bat chasing a rabbit, Bat sinking her teeth into a squirrel, Bat catching fish, Bat, Bat, Bat, Bat.
“Bat, Bat, Bat.” The forest seemed to be calling. “Bat, come to us.” Suddenly, she scented cat and jerked awake. Bat looked up and down the alley but saw nothing.
“You must go to the forest,” she murmured, remembering the silver cat’s words. “I will go to the forest.” This time she said it with fierce determination. Bat bounded out of the alley toward something, something that promised her life.
Hi every one I'm Nightstorm. Where do i sleep.*Nightstorm said as she walked gracefully into the Warriors den.*
Silverfern greeted Nightstorm happily!
here is the 2nd chapter.
Bat paused, testing the air, ears pricked. She had now left the busy city she was used to and entered a quiet village. Her paws were sore from walking so far and her belly ached from hunger.
“You new around here?” came a voice. Bat spun around. In front of her was a chubby black and white she-cat. “I’m Lola what happened to your owners?” the she-cat asked, glancing where her ribs showed.
“My owners?” said Bat puzzled.
“You know the things that stand on two legs and don’t have fur.”
“Oh! Longfoots,” said Bat, finally understanding. “I’m a stray but some longfoots used to feed me until they moved away.”
“You mean they weren’t your owners but they still fed you?” Bat nodded. “Well where did you used to live?”
“In the city,” said Bat.
“In the city!” The Lola gasped. Bat nodded again. “Well why are you here and not in the city?”
“Because I am looking for the forest,” Bat said impatiently.
“The forest!” She said eyes widening. “Its around here somewhere, but you don’t want to go in there,” the Lola warned. “Wild cats live in there. They are big and they will eat you or kill you if they find you.”
“Well, that’s probably just rumors,” Bat said trying to hide her nervousness.
Suddenly she heard a loud threatening bark. All of her fur stood on end, and she spun around. Charging towards her was the biggest dog she had ever seen! Out of the corner of her eye she saw Lola dive behind a longfoot den. Bat let out a frightened yowl and pelted away from it but the dog was already gaining and fast. Just then, the dogs claws came out of nowhere going for her face.
“Oh no you don’t!” She snarled dodging him. Suddenly she tripped, and fell face first into the dirt. When Bat rolled over she saw the dog standing over her. It raised its paw to deliver a fatal blow when….
“Harley!” The dog’s head jerked upward. “Harley!” The longfoot called again. The dog turned his head and then looked reluctantly back at his prey. There was a loud crashing as a female longfoot lumbered into view. She grabbed the dog by the color and dragged him into her longfoot den without even seeing Bat. Bat let out a sigh of relief and turned around to look at where she was. She had run so fast she hadn’t noticed where she was running. All around her were trees! It was the forest!
It was everything she had dreamed of. The trees were lush and green and there was a rich scent of prey in the air. Birds sang and warmth seemed flood into her. Moss, leaves, soft pine needles, grass, and soil carpeted the ground where she stepped.
She scented the air and dropped into a crouch as she pinpointed a mouse. Bat heard paw steps but she ignored them and continued to stalk the mouse.
Suddenly, she saw a flash of orange and then something landed on her with a screech, throwing her off balance. She felt needle sharp teeth at her neck and claws digging into her back.
She wondered if this was one of the wild cats that the she-cat had been talking about but there was no time to think about it now. Struggling, she threw the thing off of her but felt a searing pain in her leg and realized she was bleeding.
Bat slashed out at her attacker and turned to face him or her. It was another she-cat about six months, maybe older. She had a bright orange pelt and a white chest.
“Hi there,” she said cheerfully while Bat continued to stare at her. “What’s your name? Mine is Starpaw and I am training to be a thunderclan warrior. You fought pretty well considering that your not a clan cat.” Starpaw said and then seeing Bats scared exspretion she said, “Don’t worry I won’t hurt you. Thunderclan cats are nice. It’s a good thing that you didn’t go on Shadowclan territory. Boy would they have given you a beating. What’s your name?” she asked again.
“My name is Bat.” Bat answered cautiously still not sure if she should attack again. She had no idea what Starpaw or whatever her name was, was talking about.
“Bat, that’s a weird name, you’re a cat not a bat.”
“Well you’re not a star” meowed Bat indignantly and then asked curiously. “Are you a-a wild cat?”
“A wild cat? Is that anything like a rogue? Because if it is than I’m not, I’m, a clan cat.” She said proudly.
Suddenly they heard the sound of approaching footsteps, “Quick hide” Starpaw hissed, but it was to late, because just then four cats strode into the clearing. The cat leading them was a slender yet muscular longhaired tortoiseshell she-cat. The cat next to her was a black tom with piercing green eyes and a cold stare. A smaller cat glanced uneasily at Bat. She was an orange tabby she-cat with a white chest, white paws and blazing blue eyes. The last cat was a beautiful light brown she-cat with gentle brown eyes.
“That’s Eaglewing, our deputy,” Starpaw whispered, flicking her ears toward the tortoiseshell she-cat.
“What is going on here Starpaw?” Eaglewing demanded.
“It appears that Starpaw has made friends with a kittypet,” said the black cat, glancing coldly at starpaw.
“She’s only a kit Nightclaw,” The light brown she-cat mewed gently. “Besides, she doesn’t have a collar, so she’s a rouge.”
“That doesn’t mean that she’s allowed on our territory, and you know it Cherryblossom,” Eaglewing replied sharply.
“She’s a very good fighter,” Starpaw piped up.
“My apprentice could use some practice, so why don’t we see what she can do? Go on Tansypaw.” Nightclaw said pushing the orange tabby forward.
“Nightclaw!” Eaglewing said, glaring at him. “That’s enough, she is only a kit”
Nightclaw glared back at the deputy but did not argue.
“Eaglewing” said Cherryblossum softly, “you know Thunderclan is short of Apprentices at the moment. If Starpaw said she is a good fighter, she might do as a clan cat.” Eaglewing was silent, but Nightclaw let out a hiss of rage.
“Let a rogue join Thunderclan” He spat, glaring at Cherryblossum “Have you got bees in your brain! She doesn’t have clan blood.”
“But Cherryblossum does have a point Nightclaw.” Eaglewing said calmly, “Rabbitpaw, Tansypaw, Lynxpaw and Starpaw are our only apprentices at the moment. Even though Leapkit and Pantherkit will become apprentices soon it is not soon enough and Lynxpaw is about to become a warrior. We would look weak in front of the other clans with only three apprentices.”
Nightclaw’s face was contorted with anger but he bowed his head to hide it. “Come,” Eaglewing said flicking her tail at Bat, “We will see what Stormstar has to say.” They turned and started to leave. Bat hesitated wondering if she should follow them they seemed pretty nice all except for that black tom. Well what could happen she decided and followed the group into the trees.
here is the 3rd chapter.
Nightclaw lashed his tail in fury, shying away from the kit. How could Eaglewing even consider bringing her into the camp nonetheless the clan! Besides he had business to do. He didn’t want to be stuck on a patrol just because of a rogue! They should be chasing her out with a few cuts and scars to make sure she didn’t come back. As the five cats made their way to the hidden gorse tunnel Eaglewing turned towards the black kit.
“You are about to enter the Thunderclan camp. Stay with me and don’t wander off, come” She mewed with a flick of her tail. The she-kit nodded her golden eyes wide. Nightclaw looked at her scornfully, she looked like an apprentice who had just been told that she was going to become a warrior after her first day of training. Although he just couldn’t shake off the feeling that he knew her. She seemed a little familiar.
But he pushed the thought out of his mind, and as he followed them through the gorse tunnel, he watched her closely. Around the clearing cats were sharing tongues, eating, and talking. As the patrol entered, a few ears pricked and some heads turned their way.
A grey tom walked towards them, “Hello Eaglewing, where were you?” He meowed. “Stormstar already sent out another patrol to replace the on that you were supposed to lead.” He shook his head in dismay. “When Starpaw did not come back from hunting and the patrol did not come back with Cherryblossom, Goldenfoot took Rabbitpaw hunting.”
“We had a little holdup Greymoon,” Nightclaw muttered.
“A hold up?” He said, looking questioningly at Eaglewing.
“Its nothing,” said Eaglewing sharply, and then, she said in a more gentle tone, “How are the kits?”
“They’re fine thanks. In fact that’s them over there,” He mewed flicking his tail towards the nursery. Two pairs of eyes were peeking out of the ferns. Brownkit and Cloverkit, who were a half moon old, loved excitement. Greymoon caught site of the she-kit, and said, “Who’s that?”
“I’m Bat.” She mewed nervously glancing around with wide eyes.
“Bat, Eh?” He said looking at her in amusement. “Is she a rogue?” He asked Eaglewing.
She nodded and said; “We found her talking to Starpaw near the border.”
“You are going to Stormstar I presume?” mewed Greymoon.
Eaglewing nodded, “Starpaw said that she is a good fighter and she looks about six moons.”
“I’m seven moons,” Blurted out Starpaw, “And she beat me.”
“Starpaw why don’t you go find Goldenfoot and see if you can go hunting with her and Rabbitpaw," Mewed Eaglewing warningly. "You to Tansypaw," she added.
“But-,”
“No buts! Now go on”
Bat tried not to look dismayed as she watched Starpaw pad away. She felt uncomfortable with all of these strange cats, not that they were not nice. Eaglewing had seemed pretty nice and she definitely liked Cherryblossom but Nightclaw, well he just seemed mean.
Suddenly Eaglewing’s voice broke into her thoughts, “Come!” Bat swallowed hard and followed them to a big rock with a hollowed out cave at the back of the clearing. Eaglewing poked her head through lichen that hung over the opening and said in a very confident voice, “Stormstar we need to talk.” A longhaired grey tom with brilliant green eyes padded out of the den going around the lichen.
“Eaglewing!” he said in surprise, “where have you been? We were wondering what had happened to you!” Eaglewing’s whiskers twitched and a little bit of her confidence slid away like water off a fish.
“I’m sorry we took so long Stormstar.” She mewed dipping her head. “We found a rogue, named Bat, down by the border near twoleg territory.”
“You don’t mean to let her join Eaglewing?!” said Stormstar in a shocked voice.
Eaglewing shifted uncomfortably and said, “ But look at her Stormstar she is only a kit and soon we will only have three apprentices.”
Bat felt her fur rise along her spine in anger. Her, only a kit! How absurd. “ I can hunt.” she mewed defiantly to Stormstar.
He looked at her in astonishment, “You? Can hunt?!”
Bat looked at him in surprise, “can’t everyone?”
Stormstar was so surprised that he just stood there stunned, but he quickly got himself together and turned to Eaglewing letting out a mrowww of laughter. “Everyone can hunt!” he mewed purring in amusement, “Alright eaglewing I will see what she’s got.” Then turning to bat he said, “you must understand though that most unclan born cats do not have what it takes to be a clan cat.” Then turning back to eaglewing he mewed, “Come into my den all of you.”
Bat bounded forward behind Eaglewing excitedly and followed her into Stormstar’s den with Nightclaw and Cherryblossom behind her.
“Now” said Stormstar when they were all settled in, “Bat you must understand that to be a clan cat you must be able to withstand the hard life of a warrior. Some days you might only get one scraggly mouse or nothing at all.” Look who’s talking thought Bat, I had that almost everyday. “Also,” Stormstar continued, “The weather may be freezing and you will still have to go out hunting for the clan. You will also have to be very loyal to your clan. Sometimes in battle you will be expected to sacrifice you life for you clan or clan mates. In the forest there are four clans, and sometimes we have to fight for food or survival. I am going to ask you now is this what you want?”
Bat thought hard for a few seconds. “I don’t have anything left to lose,” She heard a voice in the back of her mind say but another voice said “Its to dangerous you could get hurt or killed.”
“Is this what I want.” She murmured to herself. Slowly she looked at Stormstar, “Yes I do.” She mewed in a soft but confident voice. He looked at her in surprise but did not question her choice.
“Alright then.” He mewed, “I will test you hunting skills and fighting skills. If you have at least a spark of a warrior then I will let you stay in the clan for a moon to test your loyalty.” Turning to Eaglewing he mewed “We will go by fourtrees and I will see what she can do. Nightclaw, Cherryblossom you are dismissed.”
Bat felt a feeling of excitement well up inside her. They might let her join their clan or whatever they called it! That meant that she would be able to stay in the forest and stay with Starpaw!
Cherryblossom padded away towards the warrior den but nightclaw wavered for a few seconds. “Nightclaw.” Mewed Stormstar warningly. “ I would like to do this with only me and Eaglewing.” Nightclaw dipped his head and relieved that he was finally free to go he bounded off through the gorse tunnel. He raced through the trees until he got to the small dirty stream that marked the shadowclan border. He scented the air and wrinkled his nose as he detected the scent he was looking for.
“ I know you’re there, you can come out now.”
Slowly a reddish brown tom stepped out of the bushes.
“Hello Nightclaw.” He mewed calmly, “Lets begin.”

(this is the hundredth post in here!)
We have to go like now.
Silverfern walked around.
here is the fourth chapter.
Bat crouched quivering with excitement. All of her surroundings melted away as she focused in on the rabbit. It was plump and fat and would make a great catch. Slowly she crept closer and closer trying not to make a sound. This was one kill she could not miss. Suddenly she pounced and before she hit the ground she knew that she had over shot the rabbit. Almost immediately when she landed the rabbit turned and darted out of the clearing but Bat was faster. She was on top of it in a few seconds her claws digging into it. The rabbit squealed and then went limp in her jaws. She turned around to see Eaglewing and Stormstar watching her.
“That was very good for someone of your age.” Mewed Stormstar and Bat could tell that he was impressed. “We could definitely improve that since you just scared away a lot of the prey around but at your age it was very good.”
“Why don’t you try again with something easier like a mouse,” Suggested Eaglewing.
“Okay,” Agreed Bat.
She sniffed the air and almost immediately smelled a vole. Bat spotted the vole only a few yards away from her. It might not be a mouse but it would have to do. Bat stalked the vole and then sprang landing on it squarely. It let out a yelp and then went still.
“That was great-“ Started Eaglewing but was cut off by a fierce yowl. At the same time Bat felt a hard weight land on her for the second time that day and winced as a something whacked her hard. Out of the corner of her eye Bat saw that Stormstar and Eaglewing were doing nothing to stop the attack and so she started to fight with all her might. She hit her attacker hard back and slithered out from underneath him or her but before she could even get up the thing was on top of her again. The fight went on like this for a few more minutes when…. just when Bat was going to unsheathe her claws she felt the weight on her disappear and when she sat up Bat saw Starpaw licking her paws! Bat opened her mouth to say something when…
“That was amazing Bat,” Congratulated Eaglewing, “that was a test on your instinct and fighting skills and as Stormstar said before you are very good for your age. In the forest you must always be on your guard. You handled the surprise attack very well.”
“You may stay here for a moon and tomorrow we will have your apprentice ceremony.” Mewed Stormstar. Bat felt pride for herself like she had never felt before and looked up at Eaglewing with shining eyes. She knew she was going to like it here.
The grey tabby she-cat opened her mouth to draw in scents. She did not usually get a chance to go hunting as medicine cat of Thunderclan, but today Dewpelt had been free. She saw the mouse before she smelled it nibbling on a seed in the shade of a tree. The mouse sat unaware of her coming closer and closer until… Dewpelt pounced and gave it a killing blow. She felt satisfaction at the kill until to her horror the mouse squirmed in her jaws. It was not dead yet! She dropped the mouse in surprise and bit its neck but no blood came. She bit again and again but could not tear its flesh. Suddenly the mouse began to grow, its brown fur turned a silvery grey, it’s brown eyes turned amber and its body transformed taking on the shape of a cat. Dewpelt stared in shock at her former mentor Stormpelt.
“I have been on a long journey Dewpelt.” He mewed pausing for a second. “You are all in grave danger. You must beware of night for night can kill. But night can be killed.” Stormpelt rasped, his voice changing to sound like claws grating against a rock. Suddenly his eyes glazed over and he uttered, “night will conquer peace, peace will fight back and shadows will rule the night.” Then he began to fade.
“Wait!” Dewpelt cried. “Tell me what you mean!”
Suddenly Stormpelt exploded into a thousand bats. Their flapping of wings high-pitched screeches and blood red eyes surrounded Dewpelt. “Stormpelt! Stormpelt!” she yowled.
Suddenly familiar scents washed over her, and Dewpelt felt the soft feel of the moss in her den underneath her. Moonlight streamed through the doorway flooding the medicine cat’s den with light and turning the cave and all of her herbs silver. She let out a sigh of relief as she realized that it had only been a dream, but what could the strange prophecy mean? Well, she would tell Stormstar in the morning, Dewpelt thought, as she drifted into the clutches of sleep once more.
“All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!” Stormstar’s yowl rang across the clearing, jerking Bat awake.
“Wake up sleepy head.” Starpaw mewed prodding Bat in the back.
“I’m awake, I’m awake.” Muttered Bat, struggling to her paws and letting out a big yawn.
“Come on!” mewed Starpaw excitedly. “It’s your apprentice ceremony!” Excitement coursed through Bat as she realized that Starpaw was right.
“Alright lets go!” she mewed bounding out of the den right behind Starpaw into the clearing below the high rock.
“As some of you might have noticed,” mewed Stormstar form a top of the high rock. “Yesterday Eaglewing’s patrol came back later than was expected and that was because the patrol found a rogue who is about six moons old. Soon Thunderclan will only have three apprentices and we would look weak in the eyes of Riverclan, Windclan and Shadowclan. Both Eaglewing and I have tested her and she has proved herself worthy of becoming a clan cat.”
“But Stormstar, how will you know that at the time of battle she will not run off and desert us?” questioned a small light brown tabby tom.
“Just because she is a rogue does mean that she is a coward Owlfeather?” Stormstar retorted. “She will be training with the other apprentices. Bat come up here” Bat scampered forward her heart beating so fast that she could hardly breathe.
“I, Stormstar leader of Thunderclan, look down upon this kit. She is of her 6th moon, and is ready to become an apprentice and learn our noble code.”
“Bat, please step forward. From this moment until you receive your true warrior name, you shall be known as Batpaw. Eaglewing, please step forward. You are a great deputy of Thunderclan, and did a very good job mentoring Addertooth. You shall mentor Batpaw. Teach her your strength and courage.” Eaglewing touched noses with Batpaw and Batpaw imitated her.
“Batpaw! Batpaw!” The clan chanted although Batpaw noticed that not everyone meant it. Starpaw was the first one to congratulate her. Next Tansypaw scampered up plus Rabbitpaw and Lynxpaw all who she had met after her assessment. A few warriors who Batpaw did not know came up and even Cherryblossom, and Greymoon came forward.
Out of the corner of her eye Batpaw saw a black shadow slink through the gorse tunnel heading for the warriors den. It took her a second to realize that it was Nightclaw! Why on earth was Nightclaw not at her apprentice ceremony like the rest of the clan?
Batpaw got up intending to follow him when, “Come on silly!” Starpaw mewed cheerfully. “Lets go see what’s in the fresh-kill pile, I’m starving!”
“Well,” Mewed Batpaw uncertainly. “I, uh you see I,” She stammered looking back at where Nightclaw had disappeared to.
“Come on.” Mewed Starpaw again pushing her forward and Batpaw gave in and followed her friend towards the fresh-kill pile. She chose a small bird that looked delicious and sniffed at it cautiously. Batpaw took an experimental bite and spat out a mouth full of feathers.
“Blech! What is this?” She mewed crossly, gagging on some more feathers.
Starpaw let out a mrow of laughter. “That’s a starling and that’s not at all how you eat it. You’re not supposed to eat the feathers. You’ve never had one before have you?”
“Well excuse me.” Muttered Batpaw.
“Here.” Mewed Starpaw “let me show you. You need to pluck out the feathers.” By the time Starpaw was done showing Batpaw how to eat a starling the sun was high in the sky. When they finished eating Batpaw felt sleepy and satisfied. Eaglewing padded over from the warriors den.
“Go get some rest.” She instructed, “ We are going to start training tomorrow.”
“Training?” mewed Batpaw confused, “What training?”
“To be become a warrior,” Eaglewing explained. “A warrior trains you until you are skilled enough to become one yourself.
“Alright.” She mewed stifling a yawn.
Batpaw padded slowly over to the apprentices den, curled up and almost immediately fell asleep. Just before her eyes closed and sleep took her, her last thought was that she had not told Starpaw about Nightclaw’s suspicious behavior.
Silverfern walked around bored.
Silver sat down and started licking her fur.
Silverfern had never before felt so lonely.
Briarberry sighed, and waled into the den. She missed her apprentice, Heatpaw, very much.
